Low Rider & her daughter Peanut were the foundation Miniature Dexters

for our High-Dex breed. These were brought in to create a shorter cow while

keeping the Highland look. It is working very well. They

are more aggressive when they calve but with the Highland fathers the calves

turn out good.

We went out Easter morning and found a little bull calf next to his mother.

We then did a cow count and one was missing. It was Peanut, so off to the woods we went.

After about a half hour of walking we found her with a little 15" black heifer calf.

So we named them Easter & Bunny. Bunny went to a new home and

Easter is working on her first calf. Easter had her first calf this spring, it was a 18" heifer named Annie.

Jan’s Toyland Back

Back came into this world in a snow storm and backward. As the vet was pulling her, he said most

breach calves don't live, well she did. We brought Back and Sweetie Pie home but she didn't know

what to do so after a couple of hours we took Back in the house. Sara (the dog) and us started taking

care of her. After 2 days mother took her and has been a great mother. Back still like people and Sara

better than the cow herd. Back went to the Library to help with the summer reading program.

Jan's Toyland Shaggy Reg. # 1003 & 2350 We bought him from a petting zoo in Alvin, a was beautiful blonde bull

and he started our herd. He grew to about 48'" so he was replaced by Ernie.

Jan's Toyland Ernie Reg. # 1006 A 42" miniature High-Dex bull Sire: Shaggy and Dam: Martha Lee. He dida good job of getting the size smaller. Then he was replaced by Furby.

He through of very small calves but he was kin to too many of the cows so he moved to Waco. and Wooly Bully took his place.
