Teddie was our foundation cow and even though she is a little tall, when bred to smaller bulls she has small calves with the long shaggy hair of Highlands. Her last years calf was 17" at birth and she is 29" at 1 year old.  This years calf was about 17" you can her with Freckles our dog.

Martha Lee was our first calf. We looked for Mini Highlands with no luck, so we contacted Richard Gradwohl and bought Dexter semen. The cross was a success and we had our first High-Dex calf.  I am 5' 3" tall

Low Rider & her daughter Peanut were the foundation Miniature Dexters for our High-Dex breed. These were brought in to create a shorter cow while keeping the Highland look. It is working very well. They are more aggressive when they calve but with the Highland fathers the calves turn out good.

We went out Easter morning and found a little bull calf next to his mother. We then did a cow count and one was missing. It was Peanut, so off to the woods we went. After about a half hour of walking we found her with a little 15" black heifer calf. So we named them Easter & Bunny. Bunny went to a new home and Easter is working on her first calf.  Easter had her first calf this spring, it was a 18" heifer named Annie.

Jan's Toyland Shaggy   Reg. # 1003 & 2350   We bought him from a petting zoo in Alvin, a was beautiful  blonde bull and he started our herd.  He grew to about  48'" so he was replaced by Ernie.
  Jan's Toyland Ernie   Reg. # 1006   A 42"  miniature High-Dex bull   Sire: Shaggy and Dam: Martha Lee.  He dida good job of getting the size smaller.  Then he was replaced by Furby.
